California Pier Project

Spanning the California coast from San Diego to the far north, this travel and lifestyle photography series captures over 20 piers — not just as structures, but as cultural touchpoints full of movement, mood, and memory.

As a commercial lifestyle, food and beverage photographer used to crafting every detail in-studio, I approached this series with the opposite mindset: observational, responsive, and open to discovery. I leaned into natural light, weather patterns, and unscripted moments — from surfers and sunbathers to fishermen and local food vendors.

The project serves as both a tribute to my home state and a shift toward a more documentary style of storytelling. It’s an ongoing exploration of place — rooted in the rhythms of California life — and open for editorial commissions, travel stories, or brand campaigns looking to evoke authenticity and atmosphere.

Now living in London, I’m expanding my seaside stories to a new coast — continuing to explore themes of place, ritual, and community through documentary-style photography.

This project remains open-ended and is available for editorial features, travel stories, or brand collaborations looking for atmospheric storytelling rooted in a strong sense of place.
